Independence day, 2019, I found myself at Isha Yoga Center. I was keen to participate in the flag hoisting ceremony at the Malai Vasaal (Hill Gate). This was the outside gate to the Adiyogi. About 2 kms from the Isha Yoga Center. Not finding any other transport I walked to the venue hastily, only to find that it was running as per Indian time. :D
Isha is generally very particular about their timing, but lately have noticed a delay of 10-15 mins with these events.
It was a nice function with other volunteers, locals, staff, security guards and bhramacharies. One of the most scenic flag hoisting ceremonies I have attended.
On my way back, I sat by the Adiyogi for a while enjoying the beautiful day.
And it so happened that as I headed towards the ashram it was time for the Police Station to have its own little flag hoisting. Check out the below video, with both these events. The first event I didn’t capture the actual hoisting because I was busy singing the national anthem and being part of it. The police function I covered on fully video :)
