Happy to have visited the 2nd Sadhguru ShriBrahma Guru Pooja event at the Yelanahalli ashram, Nilgiris.

All Sadhguru SriBrahma Ashrams have an annual Guru Pooja event. It is a big deal and there are many miraculous stories of how support/funds from unknown sources have helped keep this ritual intact in many ashrams. The Yelanahalli ashram has this Guru Pooja event around March-April of every year. Exact dates are decided by Tamil calendar nakshatra.

In 2023, dates were April 5th to April 16th. I had been to this event for the first time in 2022. That time I livestreamed the whole yagna on my YouTube channel.

This year happy to have made it to this event again 🙂 In hindsight, I feel I should have livestreamed it again. Anyway….. the event was slightly different. The structure had changed a bit and lots more people than usual.

This year one change in the venue and event was the presence of many more Isha volunteers than usual. These volunteers have started an official Instagram id – @sadhguru.shribrahma. They are putting updates often and for events they are live streaming at least on Instagram.

Not sure what precipitated this growth and increased volunteer activity. Maybe it is the combined effort of the documentary and blogs like mine (a lot of people have visited Sadhguru Sribrahma spots after reading my blog on all His spots – I am very happy about it). I was able to visit the Burliyar cave this time. And I was with my parents, so I was glad they visited this cave too. But I couldn’t visit Edapally, like I did last year. Sadhguru ShriBrahma photos being sold at Yelanahalli Ashram, this was new as well… 🙂

The volunteers have now started a restaurant in Yelanahalli called Anna Mane. Some time back they were looking for a cook for this restaurant. Maybe next time I can go and have some food here 🙂

And now there is a space for volunteers to stay and help with the ashram activities. Here are the details,

This is open for both men and women. So, do consider if feasible. 🙂 As the post mentions, this volunteering opportunity let’s us live in the Nilgiris as well as connect deeper with the Sadhguru Sribrahma community. I think it would be an interesting experience.

Have you been to this ashram space of Sadguru? Or are you planning to go? Let me know.
